"So what's a Jelly?" I hear you cry

A Jelly is an inspired concept that has recently hit the UK from over the water (New York to be exact) and reached me via the fabulous author and homeworking expert, my friend Judy Heminsley.

Two rather geeky New York freelancers were working in at home one day contemplating not only navels but the drawbacks of working from home in isolation:

"Wouldn’t it be a great idea", they mused, "to get a group of home workers together in one place where they could have free wi-fi access for work, access to refreshments and plenty of creative people to share gossip, knowledge and experience with." So that’s what they did in their apartment – oh, and called it Jelly because they were eating jelly beans when they were struck by inspiration.

"So what's a Writer's Jelly?" I hear you cry again

Well as the name might suggest 'tis a Jelly for writers. 

This Writer's Jelly is for anyone out there like me, authors and budding authors who are currently writing a book and want to do so in the company of inspired like minds.

What do we do at a writer's Jelly?

Write, bounce ideas, give and receive encouragement and ultimately beat the dreaded foe of resistance by putting focused time aside and committing to sitting down and actually writing.

I know what you're thinking...... it's a bloody brilliant idea! :)

For the time being it's being held at my home. We can currently fit 5 people plus me round my dining table so that's what we'll do for now and if we get a lot of interest we'll move to a location on the high street a short walk away, final details will be emailed a few days before the event.

There's Wi Fi, tea and coffee on tap (more herbals than you can shake a stick at) and i'll even bake cake if you're lucky! It's free, all you need to do is bring your laptop, your manuscript, your ideas and a packed lunch. Although we are a short skip to Acton High street abound with eateries and morrisons.

As much as this is a great opportunity to network, this is a pitch free event please folks, we come together to write, to be inspired and to get our books out there, if business results down the line all well and good but it's not our primary purpose. So please do come with that in mind.
